Our Aussies have been making waves in European football, with standout performances across various leagues and competitions.

From a crucial win in the UEFA Europa Conference League, a maiden goal in Scotland to dominant displays in the EFL Championship, these players have showcased their talent and contributed to their respective teams’ successes.

Hearts Snap Winless Streak with European Victory

Hearts broke their winless streak dating back to May, defeating Belarusian side Dinamo Minsk 2-1 in a thrilling UEFA Europa Conference League match.

Defender Kye Rowles played a pivotal role, contributing a crucial deflected header that leveled the scores, before Hearts ultimately snatched the victory in the 94th minute.

Rowles expressed his relief and excitement about the long-awaited win, saying it was better late than never.

“We had a good performance last Saturday [against Ross County], didn’t get the win but didn’t give up and got that late equaliser.”

“The boys were buzzing. We knew it took us a long time to get there but it’s relief because the monkey is off the back now.”

The victory provided a much-needed boost for Hearts, who have been struggling in the Scottish Premiership without a permanent manager since September 22nd.

Despite the win in Europe, they suffered another domestic loss, falling 3-2 to Aberdeen. Rowles played the entire match, while teammate Cam Devlin made an appearance from the bench.

Stamatelopoulos Sparks Motherwell to Victory

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos starred for Motherwell, leading them to a dramatic 2-1 victory over Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

Stamatelopoulos showcased his class with a brilliant finish after a well-orchestrated free-kick scenario in the second half to score his first goal for the campaign.

While Stamatelopoulos was substituted after 62 minutes, his goal proved to be the difference-maker.

Martin Boyle was absent as he deals with a hand injury, Lewis Miller played the entire match for Hibernian, and Nectarios Triantis received a red card.

Souttar Extends Unbeaten Run

Harry Souttar has continued his impressive form in the EFL Championship, helping Sheffield United secure a clean sheet in their 2-0 victory over Luton Town.

With Souttar in the lineup, Sheffield United has now gone an impressive 540 minutes without conceding a goal. This impressive streak has propelled the Blades to the top of the English second tier, where they remain undefeated and currently sit level on points with Sunderland.

Peupion Powers Brighton to 10-0 Rout

Olyroos midfielder Cameron Peupion followed up his hat-trick heroics with another standout performance, contributing the opening goal and four assists in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 10-0 demolition of Crystal Palace in the Premier League 2.

Having spent last season at EFL League One’s Cheltenham Town where he played 6 games before being recalled by his parent club, Peupion may look for a move away to professional senior football to gain more experience and showcase his talents at a higher level.
