Melbourne Victory have confirmed that full-back Kasey Bos has been forced to skip Olyroos camp due to an injury he sustained in the side’s 4-2 to Western Sydney on the weekend.
On Tuesday night, the club released a short statement concerning the 20-year-old’s status, sharing that Bos picked up the injury during the clash against the Wanderers, after a collision with Zac Sapsford.
The young prospect played out the remainder of the first half before being substituted at half-time.
At this stage, the injury diagnosis is unknown.
Bos will be treated by club medical staff, with last season’s runners-up expecting their player to be fit for selection after the international window when Victory host Adelaide United on March 29.
The news means Bos is ineligible to join the Australia U23s camp for upcoming friendlies against Croatia U23s, United Arab Emirates U23s and Qatar U23s.
It’s a blow for the side, who will be looking to emulate some of the success of the Young Socceroos, who won the U23 Asian Cup last month.
Victory is currently in fifth place on the A-League Men’s table, on equal points with sixth-placed Adelaide.
Bos has appeared in 18 of Victory’s 21 matches in the league this season, registering one goal and two assists.
