The Socceroos FIFA World Cup kits have been released by Nike, and they are designed to commemorate the past while looking towards the future.

Today, Nike officially unveiled the 2026 collection, and the Socceroos long-time apparel sponsor is confident that these kits can celebrate two decades of Australia on the world stage.

The home design harks back to the 2006 jersey and Nike’s Total 90 Era made famous by Australia’s qualification against Uruguay a year earlier. The kit balances heritage and progression, honoring moments that defined Australian football while encouraging fans and players to dream about the future.

Following the conditions of the 2022 tournament, Nike has made efforts to increase athlete comfort when playing in the heat. The Visible Aero-FIT zones are engineered to increase airflow between skin and fabric, helping athletes stay cool.

The fabric is made entirely from 100 percent textile waste, enabled through cutting-edge chemical recycling of polyester yarn.

“The athlete has always been at the centre of everything we do,” said Nike Pacific Vice President & General Manager, Sandra Hore.

“Since we stepped onto the global football stage in the 1990s, we’ve listened to players and communities to understand how we can add something truly unique to the game.

“That commitment to innovation and expression comes to life in this new kit – where heritage meets the future. The 2026 kit is designed to spark belief, inspire the next generation, and unite fans behind a bold new era of Australian football.”

Socceroos fullback Jordan Bos is excited to wear the new kit for Australia. It will make it’s debut against Cameroon on the 27th of March.

“I really love the new home kit,” Bos said.

“It has a great traditional feel with the colours and the style and it feels unmistakably Australian.”

“The away kit is a bit of a shift, feeling more modern and bolder with colours that are bright and unique.

“I look forward to wearing both the new kits on the world stage this summer.”

The away kit Bos referred to is a departure from what many Australian fans are used to. It features a coral and dark green gradient, and the design is intended to invoke Australia’s sunrises.

It looks unlike any Australian kit that has come before it and may initially be divisive due to the boldness of its design and colour scheme. Football kits will always be loved or linked to the memories created in them and it has the potential to be a collector’s item.

Football Australia CEO Martin Kugelar says that the new kit reflects the ambition of the team so compete and succeed against the world’s best.

“Socceroos kits become part of Australian football history, forever tied to defining moments and performances,” said Kugelar.

“We look forward to seeing the Socceroos represent the country with pride in this jersey on the global stage.”
