A bug-bear of A-Leagues fans since the move from Fox Sports to Paramount as the broadcaster of the top-flight domestic men’s and women’s league in Australia, has been the lack of accessibility at public venues.
On Tuesday however, Paramount+ announced a new partnership with SportsPick Live to distribute the streaming service to a number of pubs, clubs, casinos, accommodation facilities, retail venues, and gyms across Australia.
SportsPick Live are part of Entain Venues, which hosts a number of brands and entertainment options to help venues attract customers.
Managing Director of Entain Venues Mark Sturdy said that they were excited to be partnering with Paramount Australia to bring Australian football into venues nationwide.
“By aligning Paramount Australia, A-Leagues, CommBank Matildas, and Subway Socceroos under the SportsPick Live umbrella, we’re creating a powerhouse of sports entertainment for the commercial market,” Sturdy said.
“This is just the kick off – our vision is to become the undisputed home of sports for venues across Australia. Our partnerships aren’t just about streaming matches; we’re completely invested in growing the sports in our portfolio while elevating the local venue as the place that unites fans.”
Vice President, Partner Management & Business Development – Streaming at Paramount Australia, Lachlan Roach, said that the inaugural and multi-year partnership would be pivotal in delivering and making available the premium broadcast of all Australian football matches to fans across the country.
The initial lists of venues which will have Paramount+ as part of the partnership includes the likes of Club Marconi (NSW), Liverpool Catholic Club (NSW), Chatswood RSL (NSW), Wests Mayfield (NSW), Gosford RSL (NSW), Club Tarneit (VIC), Harvey’s Sports Bar (VIC), Salisbury North Football Club (SA), and Cazalys Cairns (QLD), the only Queensland venue on the initial list.
